2 Weeks

So first off... How cool is that invitation? My sister designed it and she is absolutely amazing!! (Thanks Sarah!)

Secondly, as you can see, she is planning a Bon Voyage party for Sterling and me. I can't believe that we are leaving two weeks from tomorrow... and that this bon voyage party will be my last chance to see my friends and family. It's starting to sink in that I won't be seeing everyone here for 4 months, however, I am still very excited to go and am incredibly blessed that I get to experience this whole trip with my husband.

Also... if you're in the area, you should come to the party! I'm serious! Just let me know :)

AUD

The day is getting closer! (I added a new countdown thingy to the blog today) We just picked up the Australian money we ordered from the bank. I had to post because it's so pretty! What was America thinking with our ugly bills? haha

1st Trip

Today we booked our first trip! It is a 2-day orientation trip once we get to UOW. We will be hiking and abseiling the Blue Mountains. Here is the itinerary. I am so excited to meet new people and visit this gorgeous place!! (Photo from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Mountains_%28New_South_Wales%29)

1 Month!

Well a lot has happened since January. Sterling and I got accepted into the program (back in March) and will be leaving one month from today! We are very excited but feel like there is so much to do in such a short period of time. We had a rough time finding housing because it turns out the UOW doesn't actually cater to married couples, but thanks to my awesome mom who did tons of research while we were busy with classes, we found somewhere! We will be living with an Australian family but it is not quite a "home-stay" per se, rather they have a separate house sectioned off of theirs where we will be staying possibly with other international students-- so we will be responsible for our own meals and be on our own for the most part. The family seems really nice, we got to meet them on Skype a few weeks ago and we got a tour of where we will be staying! It is actually closer to the campus than some of the dorms are.
Our classes are not set in stone yet so we are not sure what our schedules will be like but hopefully everything works out nicely as far as that goes!
Until next time...
